This is the most thoughtful, wonderful idea! I really want to try to make these, but I just know I don't have the patience to mold 30 cookies. I really want to, though!!

Adelina - Thanks for the props. These did take some patience, something that cooking school has helped me develop. This one might be hard for people who can't do things just two at a time.

I must say, I admire you for baking these fortune cookies. They are lovely and a real treat for friends of course, but uhm.....I don't think I have the patience, quite there yet to perform the folding, molding, making fortunes!

Your fortune cookies do look lovely though!

Gabriela - Seeing is believing! Not sure about sending these through the mail - they are delicate and they stale fast. I'd do next day well wrapped, padded, and sealed, but no longer.

Matt - So happy I could dream something up that was fitting. I've been so grateful for all of your support and encouragement with the blog, and I am so excited to hear about how things go in Pittsburgh!

These were the most thoughtful going away present ever! Reading the messages kept me going on the long drive to Pittsburgh. Also, the cookies were insanely tasty and highly addictive (they are already all gone).

Thank you so much and I can't wait to see you when I'm back home in a few months!

I'm someone who believes anything can be homemade (and it's usually better that way)! But for some reason I'm astonished that you've made fortune cookies... truly astonished...did I think that fortune cookies we're made by fortune tellers or fairies? I dunno.

I'm going to give these a try in the winter when I actually want to heat up my teeny-tiny nyc apartment. What an absolutely charming gift idea! You think they'll survive USPS?
